Paying for Immersive Audio in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Do I have to pay $20 to hear Immersive Audio in COD BO6?

No. Enhanced Headphone Mode comes free for everyone! You do not have to pay anything to experience immersive audio on headphones in COD.

Check it out for yourself in the Black Ops 6 Audio Settings. Click to Enable it in the game and you will hear the game audio come to life all around you without you paying for it. This default setting is called the "Universal Profile".

To Personalize your Profile and take your tactical hearing to the next level, head to Enhanced Headphone Mode Configuration, and you can try out a Personalized Profile totally free for 30 days.

We agree – immersive audio is great but free immersive audio is even better!

Then why do I keep hearing about $20 for immersive audio in COD BO6?

Enhanced Headphone Mode comes automatically with a Universal Profile free for all gamers. This Spatial Audio Profile is sometimes referred to as an HRTF, or Head Related Transfer Function, which is a function of human head & ear size & shape. The Universal Profile integrated in Call of Duty uses an average head and ear size and shape. This free Universal profile will work for the majority of the players.

You also have the option to create your own Personalized Profile based upon your unique head and ear shape. The ear shape is particularly complex and modifies how you hear spatial sound very uniquely. This Personalized Profile – which is optional for any gamer – comes with a 30-day free trial. After the trial duration if you want to continue using your Personalized Profile, you can purchase a license for a one-time payment of $19.99 USD. Otherwise, you always have the Universal Profile which you can continue using for free!

To try out your Personalized Profile for free and decide for yourself which option you prefer, go to Audio Settings -> Enhanced Headphone Mode Configuration.
