SPATIAL AUDIO MASTERING ENGINEER
Description
Our ideal candidate will have a strong professional background in Audio Engineering, Production, and Mastering for entertainment media, with an emphasis on sound design for video games and XR. Your primary role will be to assist the VP of Creative Direction in tuning new immersive spatial audio experiences for AAA video games.
We are a small start-up team of engineers, developers, and creatives who are deeply passionate about music, sound design, and games. First and foremost, we’re looking for a team member who shares our passion and is both willing and able to jump in where help is needed. This is an opportunity to literally help shape the future of immersive sound design!
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the VP of Creative Direction in creating and maintaining high quality standards for Embody’s immersive audio experiences in both Gaming and Pro Audio
- Create immersive deliverables for client demos and marketing initiatives as needed with quick turnaround time and ability to solve problems autonomously
- Work with the product dev team to identify opportunities for improvement and scalable implementation objectives
- Explain and demonstrate technical details, and clearly define and articulate requirements
- Communicate directly and proactively with leadership in all areas of the company to help ensure efficient and effective task prioritization and resource allocation
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in audio mastering
- 6+ years of experience in audio engineering and production with a focus on gaming/XR
- Expertise and understanding of sound design and immersive deliverable requirements for music, film, streaming, video games, and AR/VR/XR
- High proficiency with immersive workflows in a variety of DAWs including Avid Pro Tools, Steinberg, Cubase/Nuendo/Wavelab, Reaper, and Logic Pro
- Strong communication skills within a highly interdisciplinary team environment
- Love for audio and understanding of the role it plays in elevating any media experience
- Adept at interacting with and responding to feedback
Pluses
- Background in audio engineering, mastering, and production for music and/or film
- Working knowledge of game engines and middleware such as Unity, Unreal, and Wwise
- Shipped games as sound designer or audio director
- Coding or scripting skills

Machine Learning Research Engineer
Description
Embody is looking for a research engineer specializing in Machine Learning and Data Science applied to the field of immersive sound design for all media. You will be joining a team of industry-leading researchers and spatial audio veterans, and will have an active role in shaping the future of immersive sound technology for music, film, streaming, games, and XR.
As one of our ML Research Engineers, you will be responsible for assisting the R&D team in identifying opportunities for improving the quality of Immerse spatial audio experiences. You will be working with cutting-edge ML solutions in order to enhance current products and build innovative new technologies.

Primary Responsibilities
- Research and develop Embody's core Audio/Image/Video Processing and Computer Vision Modules
- Maintain knowledge of the latest studies and trends in the ML domain, derive actionable insights, and identify opportunities for integration with Embody technology
Requirements
- Masters Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similarly relevant field
- Experience with and deep knowledge of Machine Learning techniques
- Understanding of acoustics and fundamental principles of immersive audio technology
- Strong signal processing fundamentals are a must
- Solid programming skills with proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
Pluses
- Proficiency in MATLAB
- Experience with acoustics and psychoacoustics
- Cloud computing experience
- Multi-modal Machine Learning experience
