Audio Developer Intern - Pro Audio

Description

As an Audio Developer Intern you will work closely with our product team to create immersive audio production tools specializing in personalized spatial audio. You will be responsible for development of audio applications and plug-ins, as well as debugging and testing your products inside DAW and real-world immersive workflows. Your applications will be used by audio content development specialists in immersive music and gaming, so experience and passion for those areas is a plus! The ideal candidate is an excellent collaborator with a positive attitude and a can-do spirit.

This is a remote or hybrid position.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in audio software development
  • Completed Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Acoustics or related fields; currently matriculating in Master's Program or similar experience
  • Ability to develop audio applications and/or plug-ins in JUCE. Knowledge of the difference between AU, VST3, AAX, and how to test them.
  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing and audio algorithms
  • Development of audio applications primarily using C and C++ as programming languages
  • Experience with spatial audio

Desireable Skills

  • Experience with multiple DAW's (i.e. Pro Tools, Nuendo, Cubase, Reaper, Logic, and others)
  • Experience with Virtual Audio Cables (VAC), WASAPI, and/or CoreAudio
  • Programming experience in spatial audio, Matlab, and/or acoustics applications
  • Love of gaming and/or music is a plus!

Game Audio QA Engineer - Intern

Description

The Game Audio QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of audio in video games. This includes testing and evaluating Spatial audio workflows, sound effects, to identify and document any bugs or technical issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of audio middleware such as Wwise, FMOD, Audio engineering basics, and quality assurance principles, as well as a passion for video games.

Location : India

Employment Type: 3 month internship. Will be converted into full-time role based upon performance during internship

Requirements

  • Identify and report audio bugs and defects, including clipping, distortion, and other audio glitches
  • Collaborate with audio developers, audio engineers and sound designers to resolve audio issues and implement technical solutions
  • Verify that audio algorithms meet the game's design and technical specifications, and platform requirements
  • Analyze and optimize audio performance to ensure efficient memory usage and CPU utilization
  • Implement and test audio scripts and middleware integration to ensure seamless audio playback and functionality
  • Provide feedback on audio improvements and enhancements from both a technical and artistic perspective
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest audio technology, tools, and industry trends in game development.
  • Participate in game development meetings and discussions, offering insights on technical audio implementation and optimization.

Technical Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify even minor audio glitches
  • Critical thinking to analyze audio issues and determine their root cause
  • Effective communication to clearly report audio bugs and provide detailed feedback
  • Knowledge of game audio middleware like Wwise, FMOD Studio, or similar
  • Familiarity with game engines like Unity or Unreal
  • Understanding of audio file formats (WAV, MP3, Ogg Vorbis)

Audio Developer - Gaming

Description

Are you an experienced developer with a passion for gaming and all things audio? In this hands-on software development role, you will be working both at the low-level to high-level to deploy robust audio applications across platforms. Your game engine plugins, SDK’s and applications will be used by industry-leading game developers as well as everyday gamers. The ideal candidate is an excellent collaborator with a positive attitude and a can-do spirit.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in software product development
  • Completed Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
